Your Comfort

"Where else is it more important to have a comfortable environment but in a dental office? The mere idea of dentistry for many people (fortunately much less than in the past) emanates fear and negativity - 50 per cent of the American population does not see the dentist on a regular basis. It is for this reason that our office is built upon a bedrock of 5 star client service - a doctor and dedicated people who realize that the fine preventive esthetic and functional dentistry we have to offer cannot be delivered without the dental client being confident that s/he is in the right place. We believe it means that there be time devoted in the beginning for experiences that allow us to get to know each other and define mutual expectations. This sets the stage for a comfortable relationship which is the matrix of successful dental care.

Today's anesthetic techniques delivered skillfully with care make for dental visits which are a far thing from the past. Something unique that I developed called the comfort controller gives the patient total assurance and control over their comfort during the dental visit. They hold a remote control device which when pressed elicits the noise of a train whistle and a flashing strobe light.

The comfort controller.

Clients usually try it - it's a happy sound - but rarely need to use it. If and when it's pressed, everything is stopped until proper comfort levels are resumed. It is used with children as well as adults - it gives them confidence and control in this, the most feared aspect of dentistry - loss of control. It is never violated by me and is not just a gimmick, but a real example of the commitment made towards your total comfort.

I feel that it is very important for the dental office to be comfortable, not only the dental treatment, but also the environment - physical surroundings and people who work within it. Comfort woven together with excellent service can make a huge difference. Also, a warm, comfortable environment is supportive of what a dental client learns from us, which can have a major impact on their future dental health. Certainly it is important to have modern, comfortable surroundings, modern high tech equipment, videos with volume-controlled headsets, warm towels, etc., but what really is most important is how each person is treated as an individual."
